Staffordshire Porcelain Plate
One of two 9 1/4", very rare, Staffordshire Porcelain plates. It boasts a scalloped rim, gilted, hand-painted decoration, and a turquoise border around a painted Hudson River view. This plate is titled on the back in red script,"The Rapids Above the Falls of Niagara", and marked in red 1/457. Probably Samuel Alcock, circa 1840. Ex-Richards Collection. Very Good Condition with only very minor wear to some of the gold leaf decoration.
